It looks like that blog was so much on point last year that relevant events keep bringing it back to life from the archives.
Last week US special envoy to Haiti Daniel Foote resigned in protest of Washington's counterproductive policies in Haiti. Here is the link to his full resignation letter, please read carefully: https://www.newsamericasnow.com/caribbean-news-now-haiti-news-the-full-resignation-letter-of-us-special-envoy-to-haiti/
Not too long ago an American journalist condescendingly posed the following question on twitter after saying that she visited Haiti several times to help on several occasions: Why is Haiti so poor? My answer to her twit: Question for the US state department, the Clintons, and DEA, of course, she did not comment. And then a few days later, BANG, S.E. Daniel Foote resignation on September 22, 2021 two days after Emperor's Jean-Jacques Dessalines birthday. on 9/22/2021, Coincidence? You decide.
Well, let's hope that the current events impacting Haiti will be the catalyst for real socio-economic changes for the people of Haiti, but it will not happen until we come together as a nation once again to fight the oppression which is worst than slavery this time around.

Last week After reading the following article that a good friend sent to me. I realized that it further explains why we are in total chaos today by expanding on my March, 2020 post, republished on this Memorial Day weekend. Please click on it below after reading my post again :
The middle eastern connection in Haiti started In 1492 and continued through the 19th century. Jews and Arabs arrived in Haiti, their new home, dirt poor, and began making a living selling fabrics door to door from a suitcase. Thus the moniker “a jah bah jah bwet sou do” { Traveling Salesman}. During the 20th century Jews and Arabs stayed out of politics, and handled their business quietly. Names like Acra, Boulos, Bigio, Brandt, Mevs, Madsen (Dutch), are synonymous to commerce in Haiti.
During the reign of "Papa Doc" Francois Duvalier, the middle easterners were used to weaken the powerful Mulattoes by "Papa Doc." Duvalier provided them, middle easterners, with opportunities to expand into Haiti's economy. They became very wealthy, developed strong U.S. ties, and eventually took control of Haiti's economy, and politics.
Fast forward to 1986, the year "Baby Doc Duvalier" fled to France after a rebellion against him, the Haitian oligarchy consolidated its grip on power, and eventually turned Haiti into an importing nation by systematically destroying agriculture, and State-owned industries, for their benefit and that of the U.S.
After orchestrating the 1991 Aristide coup d'etat with 100% U.S. support, they began working on a plan to knockout Haiti's rice production by seeking to eliminate tariff of 35% on imported rice. President Clinton in 1994 had President Aristide lower the tariff to 3%, lowest in the Caribbean, probably part of the deal President Aristide made in order to return with 20,000 U.S. soldiers. By the way, Arkansas, President Clinton home, is the number one southern rice producer.
Currently, Haiti imports 380,000 tons of rice annually from the United States. Mostly from the U.S. Southern rice farmers. Now compare that to the Dominican Republic rice production and tariffs on imported rice. The picture is clearer once you realize that the $200 million USD goes to U.S. farmers; and the importer-oligarchs in the form of profits from the sale of imported rice. Further, the Diaspora is not only supporting the Haitian population by sending 3.5 billions home, but also the U.S. rice farmers whose crops are subsidized by USDA.
Those of us hoping for a better Haiti need to unite and design a Washington centric strategy to knockout oligarchs' grip on Haiti, and make the Haitian government work for the people, not the few. For the solution to Haiti's woes is in Washington, the architect of most of Haiti's problems. The oligarchs are just representative members of the Washington establishment, and since you must have a semblance of a governmental infrastructure to receive international aids, and control the masses, you have puppets acting as elected government officials to fool the people while racking millions. Examples: Hugo Chavez Petro Caribe program, the $1.50 tax on the diaspora collected on transfers to Haiti, the 2010 earthquake's reconstruction fund etc.
