Haiti in the Abyss

Yesterday and this morning I listened to radio Caraïbes on line with horror about the chaotic state of Haiti.

Jacmel, a carnivalesque stand and the house of a government oficial responsible for cultural affairs, I believe, who is from the diaspora burned down. The Leogane open charcoal market caught fire, apparfently accidental, last night and burned down including the abattoire, the doctor in Leogane who was told to have 50,000.00 USD ready as ransom for his soon to be kidnapped wife if he wants to avoid the kidnapping. Reports of gangs allegedly working for the State, the poor mother taking her sick baby with diarrhea and fever kidnapped on the way to the hospital with the baby, her sister pleading with the kidnappers to release her and the baby because they are poor without money. And the list goes on.

As a solution provider, after hearing those terrible events from as far as I know, credible sources, the Caraïbes weekly early morning team at 05:00 comprise of Guerrier, Bob C. and co. I came to the following conclusion:

The only way out of the abyss is through another US occupation because of the following:

During the first occupation to "restore order" that lasted 19 years, and restored stability with adverse consequences though.

In 1914 the main reason was preventing Germany from gaining a foothold in the Caribbean: https://history.state.gov/milestones/1914-1920/haiti

This time around the situation is similar, allow me to use the old adage history repeats itself, total insecurity, political chaos, U.S. political interference and anarchy. Bottom line we are incapable to manage our business, and are under constant "good or bad" foreign pressure to put it mildly.

The period between 1929 to 1957 was marred with systemic problems that persist today. Political instability, violence and corruption are integral to Haiti's culture no matter who is in power, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Haiti

During the post Duvalier era that ended in 1986 with "Baby Doc" exile. Haiti went through another rough period with the military in full control until the election of Jean-Bertrand Aristide, and after his first ouster by the military with U.S. acquiescence in September, 1991, the conditions for another U.S. occupation were laid out. It eventually happened with the return to power by then President Bill Clinton of President Aristide in 1994 with 20,000 U.S. soldiers and subsequently the UN mission that ended in October, 2017.

There you have it. Until 2017 while the UN was there and during previous occupation, Haiti was more or less stable. As soon as the UN mission ended in 2017 all hell broke loose again. And we are seeing some of the worst atrocities being perpetrated on the vulnerable in plain sight. Where is the outrage from government officials and the International community?

Moreover, where is the outrage from the newly sworn Biden Administration that has Haitian-Martinican-American Karine Jean-Pierre as campaign manager of Vice President Kamala Harris and curent White House Deputy Press Secretary. Mind you this is not Mrs. Jean Pierre first foray in the White House, she was there during the Obama\Biden administration too. Where is Washington D.C. AG, Karl Racin who is currently pursuing the Trump family legally? And many more Haitian-American elected officials.

Do they only use their Haitian roots when it is convenient for them, like Mrs. Jean-Pierre did in one biography where she mentioned her Haitian father, the taxi driver, or the D.C. AG brief mentioned of his Haitian roots on the AG website?

Where is the outrage folks? Where are those prominent Haitian politicians who flaunt their roots only when convenient but quickly burry them when no longer needed.

Well, here is my solution: All of you, Haitian-American, who voted for Biden did so for change; and democracy prevailed. Therefore President Biden owe us a debt of gratitude by getting involved in Haiti ASAP in order to restore order and democracy. Protect the vulnerable including U.S. assets and the approximately 45,000.00 US citizens, some Haitian-American, living there.

How he does it is his business but for the sake of democracy and the innocent he must act NOW.
