From Haiti with love

Been working here since September and I am getting ready to go up north soon. In August I introduced y'all to "Laiterie du Sud" (LDS), this is an update. Well we've been through hurricane mathew and it's slow go as far as rebuilding the south-southeast. Saint louis du sud, home of LDS, took a hit, but not as bad as Les Cayes, Grande Anse, Jeremie etc. I just came from there today, only mishap was my Jeep getting stuck in the river bed. Took some strong Haitians to help getting it out. I parked it a couple of clicks away, in a Church, and proceeded to Cherette on foot.

Most of the harvest has been devastated and some homes damaged or destroyed; but Haitians turned the wood from the destroyed or damaged homes to "Yes" "charcoal" yeah "charbon" from a negative to a positive turnaround, love it. Well that is in Saint Louis du Sud, I did not visit the rest of the south, so I can't say if they're doing the same thing as far as picking up the pieces further south.

The fencing for the dairy farm has been lightly damaged but it held up pretty good. I found everyone in good spirit and team alpha went up at day break to inspect the site. I enjoyed every moment of the hike and then went for a deep in the river, very therapeutic. The following pictures tell the story. Enjoy:
