The long road to Haiti

In 2005 I decided to return to Haiti. Having practically been raised in the States, it seemed like a reckless decision by someone who's been away for more than 30 years. Being a business consultant, research is second nature. From my Brooklyn home office, I researched viable opportunities in Haiti. I discovered that dairy farming and alternative energy were a good place to start because of a lack of domestic food production and electricity nationally. Import make up for most of the deficit, thus the high cost of living for most.
I was in country from September, 2006 through June, 2008 working tirelessly to get "Ferme Laitierre Biomasse" (FLABSA) going. Some of you reading this Blog supported me all the way in country. Sadly, the Cotes de Fer Diaspora did not keep their end of the bargain and the project was a flop. However, I held on to my research knowing that "I will be back."
Six years later, after forming Riv Capital, LP, Private Equity, and becoming a currency trader, I returned home. The following is a list of ventures from July, 2014:
November, 2014, Waney Dlo, Episri: Staple goods, purified water and spirits. A total business success in less than 2 years and a pillar in Waney 93. Currently employing 5 persons living in the community.
August, 2016: Acquisition of one hectare of mountain land at Cherette, Saint Louis du Sud for"Laiterie du Sud" (LDS), a Biomass dairy farm.
